10 Must-Try Restaurants in Metro Vancouver
Vancouver is a culinary paradise that even Hollywood celebrities can’t resist. We’ve rounded up the must-try spots that truly capture the essence of this vibrant city, whether they’re hidden gems or already famous favourite. The places below are just something you can’t miss.
Anh and Chi

Anh and Chi is one of the best restaurants I have been to in Vancouver. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is welcoming, clean and modern, and the staff is super friendly. The only drawback you may encounter is slow service but the food is worth the wait. You can’t go there without trying the Chả Giò (Crispy Spring Rolls), Cánh Gà (Chicken Wings) and the Cơm Chiên (Wok Fried Rice). They do get busy very fast (especially around lunchtime), so if you’re going on a weekend, be prepared to wait since you can’t make reservations. TL;DR good, modern, authentic Vietnamese food, cute atmosphere, but don’t go if you’re looking for fast food in a rush.

La Quercia & L’Ufficio

I have only been here once, but that one time was enough for me to hail this as one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The menu constantly changes, but when I went, I had the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese. You can tell the food is made with high quality, fresh ingredients and everything is cooked perfectly. All the pasta is hand-made and you can tell by the delicate texture as you take your first bite. The ambience is quaint and perfect for a romantic date night. Very knowledgeable and kind staff as well. It is on the pricier side but if you ask me, it’s worth it and definitely a must-try.

Blue Water Cafe

Blue Water Cafe is the top standard for seafood in Vancouver. Located in the heart of Yaletown, this upscale restaurant delivers top-quality, sustainably sourced seafood with impeccable execution. The elegant yet inviting atmosphere makes it perfect for a special occasion. Their seafood tower is a showstopper featuring fresh oysters, lobster, and sashimi. The miso sablefish is another must-try—perfectly cooked with a rich, buttery texture. Service is polished and professional, with knowledgeable staff who guide you through the menu and wine pairings. It is pricier, but it’s absolutely worth it for an unforgettable seafood experience.

Miku

Miku is hands down one of the best spots in Vancouver for sushi, especially if you’re a fan of Aburi (flame-seared) sushi. The restaurant is located near the waterfront and offers stunning views and beautifully presented dishes. The Aburi Oshi Sushi—especially the Salmon Oshi—is a must-try, with its melt-in-your-mouth texture and perfectly balanced flavours. Their sashimi is always fresh, and the attention to detail in every dish is impressive. Service is attentive and professional; however, it’s pricier, but Miku is worth every penny for high-quality sushi in a gorgeous setting.

Linh Cafe

Linh’s served one of the best phos in town whilst they were in Kitsilano, but make no mistake, even though they have now moved to downtown and upgraded their menu to include high-end French-Vietnamese fusion cuisine, their classic Pho Bo, Vietnamese style beef noodles, is still one of the best around. With vibrant broth and tender beef slices that just melt in your mouth, Linh’s Pho cannot be beaten. However, if you thought Linh’s has not changed since their time in Kitslano you’d surely be mistaken, as they now serve tantalizing frog legs, savoury escargot, creamy shrimp and much more! Whether it’s for a quick bowl of pho or a full course French-Vietnamese fusion dinner, Linh’s Cafe has you covered.
